  • Overview

    Assist Account Executives and Partners with the technical sales activities in driving IT Services within the federal and commercial marketplace. Must have in-depth, hands-on experience with server, storage, network and datacenter solutions and can demonstrate solid skills to customers and partners focused on Enterprise and Federal customers.  Assist with understanding customers’ requirements, the design of technical solutions, delivering sales presentations, presenting technical information about products and services, conducting product demonstrations, installation product evaluations, presenting at seminars, responding to RFP's and RFI's and the technical development of Copper River Technology’s customers. Act as a critical component to the Services Team and is designed to display an in-depth knowledge about our key technology vendors and general industry security, networking products and solutions.


    • Product Knowledge:
      • Utilize ability to describe in detail the full spectrum of major product and service groups offered by Copper River
      • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and key competitors’ products and services
      • Analyze architecture and integration of products for customer solutions of cross-functional products or services
    • Business Justification:
      • Build business cases for high-level, high-impact or high-cost technology expenditures
      • Present frequent scenarios, opportunities, and technical business cases to senior management
      • Recognize and develop business cases for high-impact opportunities
    • Client Management:
      • Ensure that customer decision-makers and stakeholders have clarity about project resources, timelines, deliverables and potential barriers to success
      • Identify and understand the key drivers (e.g., market, customers, and business) that impact the customer’s business
      • Be flexible with respect to the special demands of the job (e.g., rapid response, continuity of support, etc.)
      • Utilize sharp interpersonal skills allowing to develop strong and trusting relationships with key customer technical decision makers
    • Sales Activities:
      • Utilize in-depth knowledge of sales tools, techniques and methodologies
      • Contribute to sales Proposal and presentation
      • Leverage experience with developing multiple and varied formal, written proposals
      • Participate in product shows, exhibits or customer conferences
      • Provide competitive analysis for sales proposals
    • Solution Development:
      • Ability to transform customer complaints into opportunities for additional sales
      • Ability to demonstrate leadership in influencing solution criteria
      • Develop unique, effective and creative solutions to customer concerns
      • Ability to become the authoritative resource in creating solution configurations
      • Provide key support in creating product configurations and bill of materials
    • Knowledge of Customers:
      • Understand and articulate customers’ goals, strategies and objectives
      • Develop and nurture personal relationships with key customer decision makers
      • Document and champion needs, preferences, and issues affecting various customers
    • Technical Architecture:
      • Describe the details of industry- level technology architecture in depth
      • Lead the design of operating platforms for multiple products and/or solutions
      • Lead the development of technical architecture and standards
      • Advise others in defining philosophy and principles for implementing a global architecture
    • Industry:
      • Monitor vendor and industry trends and innovations; assesses impact for organization
      • Demonstrate comprehensive grasp of emerging technologies
      • Participate actively in professional associations
      • Identify opportunities for revenue generation through application of new technologies


    • Education:
      • M.A., B.S., M.A, or M.S., in computer science is a plus
    • Required Knowledge/Experience:
      • 10 + years of relevant industry experience in a consultative selling role
      • Experience in developing cost effective solutions around customer needs and building suitable configurations and architectures supporting customer needs
      • Sharp interpersonal skills allowing to develop strong and trusting relationships with key customer technical decision makers
      • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines as needed
      • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
      • Ability to work as a team and individual
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
      • Server/Storage/Network/Datacenter OEM products and certifications

    Other Responsibilities

    • Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Services
